Cookie Policy
This policy explains cookies, browser storage and external content on itsa.africa. Necessary technologies support functions you request, such as account access, your quotation basket and website security. Optional external content is a separate choice. Read this policy with ITSA's Privacy Policy.
2 Necessary functions and typical storage
The following describes platform functions and examples. Cookies actually set depend on whether you sign in, use the basket, encounter a security check or enable a feature. Provider defaults are not a guarantee of an identical lifetime in every browser or configuration.
| Technology | Purpose | Typical duration |
|---|---|---|
| itsa_privacy_session_v1 | Saves the website's privacy and optional-content choice without a name or email address | Browser session |
| WordPress authentication cookies including wordpress_logged_in_* and wordpress_sec_* | Recognise sign-in and protect authenticated access | Depends on session and remember-me settings |
| woocommerce_cart_hash and woocommerce_items_in_cart | Identify changes in the quotation basket | Normally the browser session |
| wp_woocommerce_session_* | Retrieves the server-side basket session | Normally up to two days subject to configuration |
| Cloudflare security cookies such as cf_clearance or __cf_bm where the relevant protection is enabled | Validate a security challenge or distinguish automated traffic | Depends on the enabled protection and configuration |
Necessary storage is limited to the function it supports. The optional-content preference does not disable account, basket or security functions. If cookie storage is unavailable, the preference mechanism may use session storage as a same-tab fallback. This fallback does not synchronise the choice across devices or browser profiles.
3 Optional embedded content
The Check Point live threat map is an optional third-party embed. The ITSA preference control is intended to withhold that embed until you choose to allow optional content. Loading it allows your browser to contact the provider and services used within its content, which may receive technical information and use their own storage. ITSA cannot control every action inside a separately operated website.
The preference applies to optional content integrated with ITSA's controls. Opening an ordinary external link takes you directly to another website with its own privacy choices. Static images, icons and fonts are different from optional interactive embeds and may involve separate technical requests. ITSA must assess new analytics, advertising and other optional tags before introducing them and update the choices and this notice accordingly.
4 Choosing and changing preferences
The website preference panel offers Accept and continue, Essential only, and Preferences. Accept and continue acknowledges the linked notices and allows the optional external content described by the panel. Essential only leaves that content off. Preferences provides an explanation and a way to save the choice. Neither action places an order, accepts a paid service contract or opts you into unrelated marketing.
Closing an unanswered panel keeps optional content off unless a choice is already saved. A choice is remembered for the browsing session, so the panel should not repeatedly interrupt navigation in that session. A new session, private profile, cleared storage or a material notice change may require a new choice. Some browsers restore session cookies when restoring tabs.
Use the Cookie preferences link in the footer or the preferences control on this page to reopen the panel. Turning optional content off stops and unloads the embeds connected to that mechanism. It cannot recall information already sent or erase a provider's own cookies. You can remove those through your browser or the provider's controls. Without JavaScript, optional embeds connected to the mechanism must remain unloaded; normal external links remain available.
5 Browser controls and implementation
Your browser can display, block or remove stored data. Removing necessary cookies may sign you out or clear the quotation basket. A browser's Do Not Track setting is not universally implemented; use the displayed website choices and any applicable browser privacy signals. ITSA must honour binding privacy-signal requirements where relevant law applies.
The Website Administrator must periodically check cookies and network requests before and after each choice, including sign-in and basket flows, and update this policy when providers or behaviour change. The examples above do not claim that every available provider cookie is active. Report a panel that fails to open, an unwanted embed or an inaccurate description to [email protected], identifying the page and browser without sending session cookies or authentication details.
